Final Game

I recently finished my final game.  It was very hard and stressful but I felt a great sense of satisfaction when I finished.  It took quite awhile but it was all worth it!  Globaloria has been great!  Below is a screenshot of my final game

Classmates

This year has been alot of fun but it has also been quite hard.  I don't think I could of made it this far without my classmates and teachers.  They have helped me so much and this class wouldn't be the same without them!

10 Days to Finish Game

Having 10 days left to finish my main game is quite nerve-racking but I think it is definitely possible to finish in time. To help me finish I downloaded the 30 day free trial and so far it has been very helpful! hopefully I can finish my game this weekend and have everything done by monday!

Spring Break

This spring break was a lot of fun.  I had a great time hanging out with friends and family.  I was fortunate enough to be able to go to Busch Gardens with my friend.  It was a blast and I hope I can do it again sometime!!

Server Down

Last week the server was down for almost the whole week.  It was very inconvenient for our Globaloria class because this was the week we were video taping our demo file presentation.  We now have to scedule it for sometime this week or next.  Hopefully it will be done soon!

Presentation

This week we had to present our demo file to the people from New York.  It was very stressful thinking about what to say and do but once we started it became very easy and actually fun!  The people were very nice and they gave me many helpful ideas to improve my game.  This was very helpful!

Skit

Yesterday we performed a skit in my English.  I thought that my group did a great job!  We all had a lot of fun preparing for the play and also performing the play!  I hope we will have another opportunity to write and perform a play again!

Demo File

Making my demo file took quite a while to complete but it was very fun and it has been great practice for my main game. Below will be my demo file so feel free to explore it!

My Wiki

The wiki is a great resource for help and much more.  I love having it and being able to access it at any time. When working on my demo file there were many times when I used the wiki to find codes and also just for general help. It is really a wonderful resource!

Fire Fox

Recently we got Fire Fox and it has been awesome! Now all the websites like blogger.com and myglife.com work every time. I think it is a lot better than Internet Explorer because it is faster and just better all around.  I'm glad we finally have a new browser!!

Assigned Seats

This week we were givin assigned seats.  It may not be as fun but it will help me in the long run becuase I won't be tempted to talk or get off topic.  I thank my teacher for realizing this and trying to help me.  I am now working much faster and affectively.

Flash

As of right now flash is broken in the main lab that our class uses every day.  How this happened was the lab was getting updated and they accidently installed the wrong version of flash.  This has been a drag but hopefully it will get fixed soon. 

F to A

This mid nine weeks I started out with a F but I soon brought my grade up to an A.  It took lots of time but it was definitely worth it.  To get an A in globaloria it takes much patience and time.  I am very happy and proud of myself!

Adding Sound

Adding sound is going to be another very useful tool that will be used quite a bit in my game.  Some places it will most likely by used is in the opening scene, when you get a question correct or wrong, when objects are droped, and many other places.  It is also very easy to add sound into your game. 

Adding Mouse Input

Adding mouse input (Drag and Drop) was also very easy!  I think I will use this tool very much in my game.  Some ideas I have had would be there are questions on the bottom of recycling products and if you get the question correct you will drag and drop the object to the correct recycling bin.

Keyboard Input

So far keyboard input has been the easiest scene for me to make.  All I had to do was make a shape and add in the codes.  I didn't have any problems.  It boosts my confidence when I am making a scene in flash and it only takes about ten minutes!  Globaloria is great!!

Adding Buttons

When adding buttons we needed to have a button that changed color when you dragged over it and it also needed to take you to the next scene.  It was very easy and fun to develope this scene.  Also it only took my about 15 minutes to get it working correctly.

Drag & Drop

The drag and drop was very easy.  I finished the scene in about 5 minutes.  I also think that it will be very useful when it come to making my game.  Maybe you will be able to drag and drop recycling objects to the right bin in my game.  But I think there is a very good chance you will see a drag and drop scene in my game.

Adding Animation

Adding animation was probably the easiest task so far for me.  As soon as she explained what adding animation was I knew what I wanted to do.  It only took me about ten minutes to complete.  Globaloria is going good!

Keeping Your Blog Updated

Keeping your blog updated is quite challenge.  Not only is it hard to remember to do one every week but it is also diffucult to decide what you are going to blog about.  So far I have been doing a good job of staying updated and I hope I can continue to do a good job!
